Overview

Helped oversee the creation of the live show and launch party to celebrate the release of John Legend’s Darkness and Light album. Assisted the team on venue management, event and live concert production, labor relations, crew management, and overall tech production. Also assisted with creative input and key branding installations, signage, and creative for the launch party.

Breakdown

Pandora hosted an album release event for John Legend's "Darkness and Light" at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. They invited a few hundred media executives, friends, family + fans to an intimate preview session to celebrate the release of his sixth studio album. The event was attended by a number of celebrities, including Legend's wife, model Chrissy Teigen, and actress Emma Roberts.

More than excited to allow fans to preview a snippet of his album, he asked event goers to turn off their cell phones and "just enjoy the moment." Recorded over a year ago, Legend acknowledged that he obviously had no idea how the presidential election would turn out.

“I had no idea what was going to happen with the election. These songs were written a year ago," John told the packed venue. "You can't go into the studio thinking what can I do to top [my last hit].”

Attendees were also treated to a three-course dinner, which included dishes inspired by the album's themes, such as "Love Me Now" chicken and "Surefire" sweet potato pie. The event was a celebration of Legend's music and a chance for fans to experience the album in an intimate setting.
